Alexandria police said that the incident is believed to be linked to a shooting in the Navy Yard neighborhood of Washington DC, in which 31-year-old Michael Sebastian has been identified as the victim.
Officers responded to the unit block of K Street around 2:25 a.m. on Wednesday, June 12, the DC Metro police said. There, they found a crime scene but no evidence of victims.
A short time later, MPD was notified of an adult male shooting victim that arrived at a local DC hospital. After all life-saving efforts, the victim was pronounced dead.
A BOLO had been issued for a Mercedes Benz at Inova Alexandria Hospital after the victim, identified as Sebastian, was found dead at the hospital on Seminary Road in Alexandria.
The incident is being investigated by the MPD's homicide unit.
